Lavender, Lilac, Purple

Whatever you call it, purple, was my favorite childhood color. I wore it whenever I could and with anything: red plaid skirt, lime green socks, purple paisley shirt. My mother was horrified. There was always a battle. She probably won. I don't remember.

I found this darling purse in a deep soft suede. I snatched it up and cradled it like a teddy bear. It's dreamy. I love it. It matches my new top. :-)

And yet, this fabulous purse is in the shop, because even thought I LOVE IT, I can't keep everything I love. I'd never Sell anything! Which wouldn't be good. Then I'd have to live in my jeep, and really, there's just not enough room for my life, let alone my purses.
Still, doesn't it look JUST DREAMY with my boho blouse & Nancy Botwin skirt? Oh, the torture.

If YOU have an outfit that can't live without this purse, I might feel better. Do you? Show me and I might sell it to you...if you can tear it from my fingers. Did I mention I love purple. :-)

Late Afternoon Gardening

Today was a good day to stay close to home and garden. Zephyr hung out in the yard too, but I did most of the work.
The onions I planted last winter are flowering. I keep them now just for the explosion of purple by my back door.
The bird bath keeps the birds happy but is constantly being taken over by the lavender. I hack it back continuously. I want the vines to spread out, fill in and crawl up the bath. Patience.

Urban gardening is a challenge. So many pots, small patches of flowers, tomatoes in raised beds, squash in wine barrels. I fill up all the space I can, then shift it around with the changing seasons. The shade, the sun, the asphalt. Still, it's worth it. I can look down on it all from my window perch. And soon enough be feasting on fresh tomatoes and basil. My favorite.

Birds & Lavender

In the middle of a zooming yesterday, (coffee driven), I slowed down enough to add a little something extra to some outgoing packages. Here in northern California we are in the middle of some crazy January spring. People are in shorts and flip-flops, car windows are open, buds are blooming. It's ridiculous. (I love winter--sweaters, scarves, woollies, hot tea, old movies, thunder storms. Ah, sigh).

Anyway, my lavender bushes are blossoming and I thought that might be a nice addition for customers deep in snow or stuck in blizzards. Plus, I've been making tags. I love the birds.

Ann Douglas made my coffee cup tags and they're almost gone! Ann, make more! ;-)

Now, I have crocheting to tend to. Plus, Grissom says goodbye tonight on CSI. I hate endings.
Good night, dahlila.
